Using the site

By using editzap.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

The service

EditZap offers free file tools that run in your web browser. Your files are processed on your own device, and we never receive, store or have access to them. The privacy policy explains how this works and what data is involved.

We may add, change or remove tools, or pause the site, at any time and without notice. No account is needed, and there is nothing to pay.

Provided as-is, without warranty

EditZap is free and is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to make the tools accurate and reliable, but we make no promises of any kind, express or implied. That includes promises that the tools will be error-free, always available, suitable for a particular purpose, or that a result will be exactly what you expected. Conversions, compression, text recognition and background removal can all produce imperfect results.

Always check a result before you rely on it or send it to anyone, and keep your original file.

Your files are your responsibility

• You are responsible for the files you open in EditZap and for what you create with them.
• You must have the right to process each file. That means it is yours, or you have permission from whoever owns it.
• Keep backups. The tools create a new file and do not change the original on your device, but mistakes happen and we cannot recover anything for you, because we never have a copy.

Acceptable use

Please do not use EditZap to:

• infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy or any other rights of other people;
• remove passwords or restrictions from documents you do not own or are not authorised to unlock. Unlock PDF only removes a password you already know, from a document that is yours or that you have permission to change;
• forge documents or signatures, or pass off a document as something it is not. A signature added with Sign PDF is an image of your own signature, not a certified digital signature, and you should only sign on your own behalf;
• do anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful to others;
• attack, overload or interfere with the site, or try to get around its security measures.

Limitation of liability

In plain terms: you use EditZap at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, EditZap and the people behind it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using the site or from being unable to use it. That includes lost or corrupted files, lost data, lost profits or business, and problems caused by an incorrect or incomplete result.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing here takes away rights you have that cannot be waived.

Third-party software and names

The tools are built on open-source libraries and, in some cases, AI models, each under its own license. Your browser downloads them from third-party servers, which have their own terms. Product names such as Word, Excel and iPhone belong to their owners and are used only to describe which files the tools work with. EditZap is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies.

Our content, your results

The EditZap name, logo, design and text on this site belong to EditZap. The files you create with the tools are yours. We claim no rights over them, and we never see them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply.
