How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Drop one or more .heic or .heif photos onto the box above, or click it and pick them from your phone. Files with any other extension are ignored.
- Choose a JPG quality. High keeps the most detail, Medium is a sensible middle ground, and Small produces the lightest files for email or chat.
- Press Convert to JPG. The photos are decoded one after another and the status line names the file being worked on, so you can see how far along a batch is.
- Download the result. A single photo comes back as a .jpg keeping its original name; two or more are packed into one archive called editzap-heic-converted.zip.
What people use it for
HEIC is what an iPhone or iPad saves photos in by default. The trouble begins when the picture has to leave Apple's world: Windows will not open it without an extra codec, older photo software ignores it, and a good many websites refuse the upload outright. Converting to JPG removes that friction in a single step.
- Emailing holiday photos to relatives who should be able to double-click and simply look at them.
- Uploading pictures to an insurance claim or a marketplace listing that accepts only JPG or PNG.
- Feeding photos into an older editor, a print shop's ordering page or a photo book service.

Good to know
JPG is a lossy format, so some of the data HEIC was holding is discarded on the way out. At High quality the difference is difficult to see on screen, but it is real, and re-saving the same JPG repeatedly will slowly soften it. Your original file is never touched: the converter only reads it and builds a new JPG alongside, so the photo in your camera roll stays exactly as it was. Keep the HEIC if you may want to edit at full quality later. If a file has been renamed to .heic without actually being one, the tool says it cannot read it rather than handing you a broken image.

Questions people ask
Does converting reduce the quality of my photo?
Slightly, because JPG compresses by throwing information away. High quality is close enough to the original for viewing, printing and sharing. Choose Medium or Small only when file size matters more than fine detail.
Can I convert a whole batch at once?
Yes. Add as many photos as you like in one go; they are converted in sequence and delivered as a single ZIP. There is no per-file or per-day cap, though very large batches are limited by your device's memory.
Does this work on an iPhone or an iPad?
It does. Open the page in Safari or Chrome, tap the drop area and choose photos from your library. The conversion runs on the phone itself, which is often the quickest way to get a shareable JPG without changing your camera settings.
What is the difference between HEIC and HEIF?
HEIF is the image format; HEIC is Apple's container for it, and the extension you will normally see. Both are accepted here and both convert the same way.
